About us

GEN 11 Motors is a new enterprise by Brazilian-born motor racing driver Thomas Erdos, twice a winner in the Le Mans 24 Hours and a former British GT and Formula Renault champion.

about_preparation_02Like any successful racing driver, Tommy’s focus is on attention to detail, reliability, quality and preparation, and he applies the same high standards to the cars that are sold through GEN 11 Motors. “We only deal in quality used vehicles,” he says. “Once we acquire a vehicle it goes through a meticulous inspection process and detailed cleaning, using the same perfectionist standards I acquired through my years in motorsport.”

A racing workshop has to be “hospital clean” and the level of preparation has to be the very highest. “Our main focus, above anything else, has to be safety. Every technician who has ever worked on my race cars knows that he or she is responsible for the safe operation of that vehicle and that my life, quite literally, depends on it. Of course, road-going vehicles are not being pushed to the same levels of performance – at least, they shouldn’t be! – but at GEN 11 we still check each car as if they did, and we ensure they meet the highest safety standards. That can range from something as simple as testing tyre pressures and tread or adjusting the torque settings on the wheelnuts, through to checking brakes for fluid levels and pad condition, lights, seat belts and airbags, and any other safety features fitted by the manufacturer. We also perform a thorough visual check of the vehicle, inside, out and underneath, before setting it through a rigorous test drive – by an expert! – to make sure that the car drives in a safe manner and in the way it was intended.”

about_le_mans_2010_01After three decades as a professional motor racing driver, as well as fulfilling a vital role as a test and development driver for some of the world’s top manufacturers, Tommy has developed skills that enable him to identify even the smallest problems with the cars he drives. “Guided by my engineers, we’re able to identify a problem quickly, and correct it. As you can imagine, these skills put me in good stead to run a used car business where vehicles must be properly checked and serviced accordingly.”

Those years as a racing driver have also made Tommy a great communicator, and he’s just as much at ease chatting with his customers, and explaining the features of a road car, as he is talking with journalists or commentating on a race. “We strive to create the best car-buying experience for each and every one of our customers,” he insists. “We aim to create a friendly atmosphere, making the customer feel comfortable with our service, and we don’t go for the hard sell. We just want to provide straightforward professional and friendly service.”

Brokerage

GEN 11 Motors also provides a brokerage service to customers who simply haven’t the time or don’t want to get involved in selling their cars. “We advise them on a realistic target price for their vehicle and will provide a comprehensive service of collection, preparation and marketing of the vehicle.” If you own a car that you’d like to sell, please check out our Sell Your Car page or Contact us.
